Dedication is Sunday, September 25th, 2016. The ceremony begins promptly at 1pm. Festivities continue through 5pm and include booths, demonstrations, children's activities, public safety vehicles and information.
Please get this word out as well: Part of the dedication will include letters from those who have benefited from our public servants. People can submit “thank-you's” for their acts of heroism, compassion, caring, and protection. So many people are quietly served. If you are looking for a way to publicly thank a Southern Rescue member, Oakland Volunteer Fire Department member, Oakland Police member, Sherriff's Office member, 911 operator, or flight personnel, you may do so by submitting a letter and telling your story to Michelle Ross 15 S. Third Street Oakland, MD 21550 or email it to mainstreetgoba@gmail.com. After the dedication all letters will be remitted to the individual departments.
