    Cove Run Farms Corn Maze

The opportunities for education and fun are never ending at the Deep Creek Lake area and surrounding Garrett County. Plan your student's trip around the natural and rural setting of our destination. Lodging opportunities can range from a camp setting to a local hotel, all within close proximity of activities and learning centers.

    Day One:

After a bus ride into the area, check into your lodging and experience the first evening with dinner and a camp-fire (area bonfire experiences are available locally).

    Day Two:

The children will love the visit to a local farm where they can get a hands-on look at the day-to-day experience of farm life. Depending on what style of farm you visit, explore these activities:

    • Milk a cow
    • Feed animals
    • Learn about alpacas, goats and other farm animals
    • Experience farm work first hand
    • Take a carriage ride through country fields

Mid-day - Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading to downtown Oakland for a historic view of our land. The children will enjoy a guided tour of the local museums including the Historical Society museum with unique displays, transportation museum and the B&O Museum.

After heading back to your lodging, enjoy a prepared dinner and then take advantage of an evening of rest.

Canopy Tour at Wisp ResortDay Three:
Choose a morning of adventure! These awesome activities will leave your students happy, exhilarated and with plenty of memories to take home:

After lunchtime, head to the Discovery Center at the Deep Creek Lake State Park. Everyone will enjoy the interactive displays and nature programs with a guided hike, craft or talk.

    Day Four:

Before you leave the county, take the kids to explore Grantsville and the Spruce Forest Artisan Village. Let them meet local artists as they work their craft, tour Stanton's Mill and have a delicious lunch at Penn Alp's Restaurant. No trip would be complete, without a view of the Casselman Bridge, while learning about the tie to the National Road and the importance of this historic landmark.
