    The Stone, Water and Glass Tour is ideal for the traveler who likes to take things easy. Low impact and gentle pace, this trip works for seniors and those who may have difficulty getting around. Some stops may be easier than others and can be customized to work with any group type.

    Day One (Mid-Morning check in)

    • Welcome to Western Maryland!
    • Arrive in historic Grantsville and tour through the Spruce Forest Artisan Village*, home to local artisans who you can watch as they make their craft including pottery, bird sculpting, wood working, weaving, quilling and more!  Explore the Casselman River Bridge State Park, home to the historic bridge over the National Road. This bridge was the longest single span arch bridge of its time.
    • Enjoy a home style meal at the historic Penn Alps Restaurant or grab a boxed lunch from Cornucopia Cafe and enjoy at a picnic table along the river.
    •  Next, visit the NEW! High Country Creamery & Market for a look at how locally produced cow cheeses are made. Enjoy a sampling and browse the retail space for delicious treats to take home such as Dill Curds or Aged Cheddar Cheese.
    • Depart and stop by Hilltop/Candyland for a chance to bring home a bag of candies from their aisles of candy bins.
    • Continue back to your accommodations for dinner and a relaxing evening.

    Day 2

    • Dine on-site at your hotel or at a local breakfast eatery.
    • Travel to Simon Pearce Glassblowing Factory for a look at the incredible art of glass blowing and retail store visit.
    • Enjoy lunch on your own in downtown Oakland restaurant with free time to explore the local shops.
    • Visit downtown Oakland including the Garrett County Historical Museum, the Transportation Museum and the Oakland B&O Museum.
    • Stop at accommodations to freshen - remainder of afternoon free to relax until dinner.
    • Enjoy dinner at one of the Deep Creek Lake area's fine restaurants and then relax at the hotel with evening entertainment.


    Day 3: Departure Day

    • Enjoy a quick breakfast on the go with muffins or a breakfast sandwich with your favorite cup of coffee from a local coffee shop.
    • Next, travel to Swallow Falls State Park for a walk to Muddy Creek Falls, the state's highest free falling waterfall.
    • After, satisfy your sweet tooth with a tour of Lakeside Creamery* including hands-on experience with a sample of hand dipped ice cream. 
    • With your bellies full, head to ASCI (the Adventure Sports Center International) for a behind-the-scenes tour of the whitewater facilities.
    • Before heading home in the afternoon, experience Wisp Activities including the breathtaking scenic chairlift ride, mountain coaster and Spider Monkey Canopy Tour or maybe a game of golf.*
    • Head home with great memories of a fantastic visit to the mountains of western Maryland!
