Writing greeting cards is an ideal answer for people long on talent, but short on time, and have a unique way with words. Concentrating on humorous verses, serious prose and alternate products (verses for mugs, sticky notes, calendars, beverage napkins, etc.), students will be taken step-by-step through the process of creating and submitting work to card companies. The course is being instructed by Sandra Louden, who has contributed regularly to Greetings Today, the official magazine of the industry. Her career has been profiled through the years in many books, including The Stay-At-Home Mom?s Guide to Making Money, 101 Best_Home-Based Businesses for Women, and 101 Best Small Businesses for Women. Her greeting card work was shown on The Regis and Kathie Lee Show, she has appeared on the cover of Parade Magazine, and her clients have included actress Stefanie Powers and NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar. She?s been interviewed on NBC-TV, the BBC, Christian Science Monitor and Writer?s Market, to name a few. A pen and notebook are recommended for this class.
