Kenny Heath will present a program on Monday October 22nd at 7:30 PM in Springs, featuring music, memories, and memorabilia of the glory days of local entertainment in the Cumberland area in the 1930s and 1940s. Did you know that over 100 nationally-known big bands played Cumberland using the Queen City as a mid-week gig between bigger engagements in Pittsburgh and Washington/Baltimore? And - Glenn Miller performed as well as Billie Holiday with Artie Shaw’s orchestra where the McDonald’s is in La Vale; Heath has hosted for the last twenty plus years Frostburg State University’s WFWM Public Radio with “Jukebox Friday Night”.
