    Event Description:
The 2020 Victorian Chautauqua will be two days of lectures, historical character portrayals, music, food, artisans, historic home tours, and activities for the entire family. The event takes place in Historic Mountain Lake Park that was founded along the B&O Railroad as the first Chautauqua resort in Maryland and the second in the nation. In 1881, visitors arrived by train to enjoy a cultural, spiritual, and recreational break from their busy city lives. Over the next several decades it became one of the top vacation destinations in the country. What they left behind were charming Victorian summer cottages and the spirit of personal enrichment. A vision the Victorian Chautauqua honors and revisits. A full calendar of events is available online.
