Encompassing over 1,818 acres, Deep Creek Lake State Park is three miles southeast of McHenry, on the east side of Deep Creek Lake. The parks fronts on a six-square mile, man-made lake. Water sports of all kinds are popular, and in the winter the park offers six miles of snowmobile trails.
Pets must be under the control of responsible owners at all times and must be leashed when on hiking trails. Pets are also permitted on a limited number of campsites but are not permitted in the day use area of the park.
The park offers camping, swimming, picnicking, boat launching, interpretive programs, hiking, and a variety of recreational opportunities in the resort area.
